Award Regulations
This society conducts the following award programs at the annual general meeting held once a year.
1. Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology Award
This award is presented to selected papers published in the society's journal, Journal of Hard Tissue Biology, that are recognized as particularly outstanding academically, for the purpose of academic encouragement (President)
2. Distinguished Scientist Award in Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology
This award is presented to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the society's activities (President)
3. Oral Presentation Award, Poster Presentation Award
These awards are presented to selected presenters from among those who presented at the annual meeting (Conference President)
4. Emeritus Membership
This title is conferred upon individuals who have contributed to the progress and development of this society over many years (President)
Award Regulations for The Society for Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology
1. In accordance with Article 4, Section 2 of the society's bylaws, this society shall present the title of Emeritus Membership to those who have contributed to the progress and development of the society, the Distinguished Scientist Award in Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology to those who have made meritorious contributions to the society, and the Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology Award for academic encouragement in the name of the President, and the Oral and Poster Presentation Awards in the name of the Conference President.
2. Awards shall consist of certificates.
3. Matters concerning the selection of awardees in the President's name shall be conducted and determined by the Awards Committee, composed of a chairperson and several committee members appointed by the President from among the directors, and reported to the President.
4. Matters concerning the selection of awardees in the Conference President's name shall be conducted and determined by a committee composed of a chairperson and several members appointed by the Conference President, and reported to the Conference President.
5. The President shall receive reports from the Awards Committee Chairperson and the Conference President and report them to the Board of Directors and the General Assembly.
6. In principle, the Distinguished Scientist Award in Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology and the Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology Award shall not be awarded to the same individual within a five-year period.
7. If there are no suitable candidates for awards, no awards shall be presented.
8. The award ceremony shall be held at the annual scientific meeting and general assembly.
9. Detailed rules concerning the selection of society awards in the President's name and presentation awards in the Conference President's name shall be determined separately.
10. Notwithstanding these regulations and the detailed rules stipulated in the previous paragraph, awards may be presented after deliberation by the Awards Committee when necessary.
11. Revisions to these regulations and separately determined detailed rules concerning awards require approval from the Board of Directors.
Detailed Rules Concerning Awards of the Japanese Association for Regenerative Hard Tissue Biology
Detailed Rules for Recommending Emeritus Membership
1. Emeritus membership shall be conferred upon individuals who have particularly contributed to the development of this society through hard tissue regenerative biology.
2. Directors of the society may recommend candidates for emeritus membership who meet the criteria in the previous paragraph to the Awards Committee.
3. When candidates for emeritus membership are recommended according to the previous paragraph, the Awards Committee shall deliberate and decide, report the results to the President, and awards shall be presented in the President's name.
4. Annual membership fees shall be waived for emeritus members.
5. Matters not stipulated in these detailed rules shall be addressed after deliberation by the Awards Committee.
Detailed Rules for Selecting the Distinguished Scientist Award in Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology
1. The Distinguished Scientist Award in Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology shall be presented to individuals who have made remarkable contributions to research and development in the field of hard tissue regenerative biology through the activities of the Hard Tissue Biology Society.
2. Directors of the society may recommend candidates for the Distinguished Scientist Award in Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology who meet the criteria in the previous paragraph to the Awards Committee.
3. When candidates for the Distinguished Scientist Award in Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology are recommended according to the previous paragraph, the Awards Committee shall deliberate and decide, report the results to the President, and awards shall be presented in the President's name.
4. Matters not stipulated in these detailed rules shall be addressed after deliberation by the Awards Committee.
Detailed Rules for Selecting the Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology Award
1. The Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology Award shall be presented to selected original papers published in the society's journal, Journal of Hard Tissue Biology, that are recognized as particularly outstanding academically.
2. Directors of the society may recommend candidate papers for the award from among eligible papers of the current year in accordance with the society's award regulations and these detailed rules.
3. When candidate papers for the Hard Tissue Regenerative Biology Award are recommended according to the previous paragraph, the Awards Committee shall deliberate and decide, report the results to the President, and awards shall be presented in the President's name.
4. When a paper has more than three authors, with the consent of all authors, in principle up to three people including the first author shall be eligible for the award.
5. Matters not stipulated in these detailed rules shall be addressed after deliberation by the Awards Committee.
Detailed Rules for Selecting Oral Presentation Award and Poster Presentation Award
1. These awards shall be presented to first presenters of selected presentations recognized as particularly outstanding from among those presented at the society's scientific meetings.
2. The overall selection shall be conducted by a selection committee appointed by the Conference President, and awards shall be presented in the Conference President's name.
3. When awards are presented according to the previous paragraph, they shall be reported to the President through the Awards Committee Chairperson.
4. Matters not stipulated in these detailed rules shall be addressed after deliberation by the relevant selection committee.
